East to the Duwamish, North and West to Puget Sound, south to the city limits – though if anyone is on the north edge of White Center and interested (Roxbury vicinity), we can probably get them on the map.

Sherrie, I’m so sorry to say we can’t add anybody else at this date – the packets have gone out and the mapping is in progress. Next year we will likely have a three-week registration window rather than two weeks, as it seems that the first week is mostly just for word starting to get around!
One possibility is to check with Hotwire Coffee, where Lora is offering courtyard space to sellers who want to set up tables etc. and at last report she was still signing people up …

My sale is being held in the alley behind the address on the info I sent. How can I specify that?

I tried to register on the 25th for the WSGS and registration was closed. Were you supposed to register before the 25th?
westseattlegaragesale said
@Allrider – Our registration period was April 1st-April 22nd. (Used to be two weeks long but last year we extended it to three weeks in hopes that would give plenty of time for the word to get out.) There may still be space at Hotwire, C&P Coffee or Highland Park Improvement Club group sites if you are interested in a table – contact them directly – HPIC is http://www.hpic1919.org
@Nancy – Northwest Center will be set up in the Junction as usual for people who want to take their leftovers to the big blue truck right after the sale. Otherwise, you are welcome to call them to schedule a pickup time. They suspended the same-day pickups a few years back – they don’t run the truck on Saturdays any more, apparently – but if you want to call to see about something on Monday or beyond, they are supportive of WSCGSD and welcoming! – Tracy

For future reference: Went to the Fauntleroy Y to pick up a map, they said they’d never had any. Went to Hotwire around 10:30 and they were out. Downloaded the .pdf map from the site, and my anti-virus software flagged it as infected !!!!
But found some sales on my own and got good stuff, all good, thanks.
westseattlegaragesale said
Sorry about that on both counts! We reduced the amount of preprinted maps this year and I think that may have been something we forgot to take off the list – we did have some at the Junction Y. And sorry about the PDF, heaven only knows what that was about … we work on Macs and they’re fairly uninfected!

How do you register for 2011? The link for the registration on the web site is deactivated. Thanks.
westseattlegaragesale said
Hi! Too soon – we’ll be out with registration details in March. Thanks!

Do all of the sales start and at the same time? If so, what are those times? And, if not, how do we announce the times for our sale?
Thanks!
westseattlegaragesale said
9 am-3 pm. I need to add that to the page title. Thanks.

I registered for Garage Sale day, but unfortunately can’t do it. How do I take my house off the map?
westseattlegaragesale said
Hi! Send us a note at garagesale@westseattleblog.com asap – make sure it includes the address and the e-mail address with which you registered – I’ll send you back a note confirming you’re out of the system. Maybe next year! – TR

Last year there was a place to for people to talk to each other about what they might be looking for so that others might respond if they have it and where they are on the map. I sold several items that way. Is there a place like that this year and, if not, can you create one?
westseattlegaragesale said
That would be the WSCGSD Facebook page. http://facebook.com/westseattlegaragesaleday

We are in need of some furniture, but we don’t have a vehicle. We are going to rent a zipcar to run around in and shop for smaller stuff, but they don’t have a pickup to use in West Seattle and we just aren’t comfortable enough to drive one from downtown or get one of those huge giant pickups from Home Depot in WS. Eeek! It would be so great if there was like a list of people who could be on call for the day to haul stuff for people who don’t have any way to do that themselves. We would certainly be willing to pay a reasonable price for hauling for the stuff we would love to get: dining table & chairs, outdoor table & chairs, dresser, bookshelves, etc!
