It’s Thursday, April 25, and just in case you’ve missed it on our main site West Seattle Blog – this is the last day to register a sale for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2024 (9 am-3 pm Saturday, May 11). Registration closes at 11:30 pm tonight; as of 10 am today, 460+ sales are registered, a new record (WSCGSD dates back to 2005). Here’s where to sign up!

One week to go until West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day on Saturday, May 13, 2023! This year, for the first time, more than 400 sales are registered to participate. Two ways to find them, and both are now ready:

Official sale hours on May 13th are 9 am to 3 pm, but as you’ll see if you browse the list, some are opening earlier, some are staying open later, and some have even added extra days (starting Friday and/or continuing Sunday). We’ll add links to previews (and changes/cancellations if any) and other info atop the online map page, so be sure to check that throughout the week.

Saturday, May 13, 2023, is the date – and registration is open now if you’re having a sale on WSCGSD! Here’s the form to use. Registration will be open about three and a half weeks as usual, and then we have to lock it down to make the map and list so they’ll be ready to go public one week in advance.

It took only minutes for the Goodwill truck at Lafayette Elementary to fill up with donations, so do NOT bring anything more there.

West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2022 is almost here!

Might be a few raindrops but we’ve seen that before, so on we go into WSCGSD 2022! Saturday (May 14th), 9 am-3 pm, with some sales starting early and/or ending late … some even are running extra days. If you haven’t seen the map/list yet, go here – and also check there before heading out Saturday, for last-minute changes/cancellations as well as links to lists we’ve collected (benefit sales, business sales, block sales, plant sales, more to come).

320+ sales for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2022!

May 14th is getting closer – that’s sale day – and May 7th is a big day too, as that’s when we’ll have the map/list available. Just wanted to let you know that WSCGSD has had a tremendous “welcome back” reception and 320+ sales are signed up! 98116 is the zip code with the most sales, followed by 98126 and 98136, which are almost tied. After the map is ready, we’ll be rolling out lists such as benefit sales, block sales, business sales, bake sales … Get ready for a great WSCGSD!

No West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day for 2020

Inevitable but still sad – we have to cancel 2020’s West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day, which would have been the 16th annual WSCGSD. Even if our state’s stay-home order ends in early May, even if gatherings are allowed again, there’s no way it would be a good idea to invite thousands of people to come visit for the day. (And then there’s our current state of bridgelessness ..) So here’s hoping for next year, when the second Saturday in May will be the 8th.

Registration is closed and once again this year it’s a 300-sale West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day! Two weeks from today – Saturday, May 11th. We’re working on the map/listings now so that as always you’ll be able to access the info for planning one week in advance, starting next Saturday, both here and on our main site West Seattle Blog. If you are still deciding whether to have a sale on Saturday, May 11th, as part of the 15th annual West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day – registration is open for one more week, until next Thursday, April 25th. That’s when we get busy mapmaking! So far more than 150 sales are registered – from individual sales to block sales to business sales, moving sales to kid-stuff sales, “vintage” sales, furnishings, collectibles, sports gear, holiday decorations, kitchenware … if you’re looking for something and don’t mind that it’s used, WSCGSD will be the day to find it. We publish the map in clickable and downloadable versions one week in advance so shoppers can plan, and that’s why we cut off registration. Registration is over and the countdown has begun – two weeks from tomorrow, it’s the 14th annual West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day! More than 330 sales of all sizes, in all neighborhoods, are signed up for Saturday, May 12th – if you are one of them, please watch the e-mail account you used to sign up, because if we have a question before making the map/list, we’ll be e-mailing you with that question in the next day or two. As promised, we will have the map/list available here on Saturday, May 5th, which also will tell sellers their official number (so you can tell your friends, family, neighbors, co-workers that you are Sale #xx). Now just under four weeks until Saturday, May 12th – this year’s West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day – and 120 sales are signed up! Every single year, the variety is amazing, in sale size, sale items, sale locations, and this year is looking great too. We are midway through the registration period and the rest of the time will roar by, so if you’re planning a sale but haven’t signed up yet – go here to get it done!

One week now since we started registering sales for Saturday, May 12th, this year’s West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day, and 85 sales are on the list – all sizes, all over the peninsula, all sorts of items. It’s the biggest community garage-sale day in the city so far as we can tell, and this will be its 14th year, a tradition still going strong. If you’re planning to sign up, you still have two weeks – just be sure you have your up-to-20-words “ad” ready to include once you start filling out the registration form! Official sale hours are 9 am-3 pm on May 12th but you are welcome to run longer – with an early start and/or late end – just be sure to mention that in your ad, too.

We’re still in the first of three weeks of registration for West Seattle Community Garage Sale Day 2018, and 70 sales are already signed up – including the group site at Hotwire Online Coffeehouse (4410 California SW in The Junction), half a dozen businesses, and lots of awesome sales of all sizes, all kinds of items … clothes, toys, houseware, antiques, furniture, books, music, sports gear, and that’s just barely scratching the surface.

Official sale hours on Saturday, May 12th, are 9 am-3 pm, but sellers are welcome to start earlier and/or end later, and some already have announced they’re doing that – shoppers come from miles away (we’ve heard of people coming from Eastern Washington just for WSCGSD). Having a sale but not signed up yet? You have 2+ weeks BUT why procrastinate? Get on the list now!

We keep registration open for about three weeks so there’s plenty of time to decide if you’re participating and to register, but please don’t procrastinate, because once it’s closed, it’s closed – creating the maps and sale list takes some time!
